My doctor taught me this simple step to take care of my eye hygiene. I love contact lens and I usually wear a simple eye make up like eyeliner and mascara. But do we really sure that by using a make up remover, our excessive eye make up are totally cleaned? In fact some of this excess are left behind, hidden among our lashes.
Without completely cleaned our lashes, those make up excess will stay there and make our lashes even more dirtier. If we left it too long then our lashes will even more vulnerable against bacteria that are soon to bring a variety of diseases.
So I am using Johnson's baby shampoo to help me wash my eye area. You can get any brand of baby shampoo, anywhere, even in the nearest store around you. Some of them prefer Sebamed Children shampoo. Baby shampoo are usually designed not to bring any pain on the eyes because the active ingredient chosen for this liquid wont irritate the eyes. So the baby shampoo is not as strong as adult shampoo. Which is safe enough to clean the skin around our eyes.
I usually wash my face normally with my fave face cleanser, then apply the baby shampoo to clean my upper eyelids platform, lower eyelids, and lashes. You can do this in shower or morning face wash. Another extra little effort but prevention is better than cure.
This tips is very helpful to me since.... I was always afraid of the pain when a facial soap get into my eyes (maybe it sounds so weird or even stupid but yes I am afraid). So I thought it would be okay to at least get the foam over by my eyelids without completely wiping my lashes. Then here I am, ended up in the hospital because some bacteria gets into my eyes, the worse case of mine is, I had to throw away all my contact lens including my newest lens because of my doctor concerned if the bacteria was on my other lenses too.
This is totally drop my vision like 30%, I hardly drive, I cant stay for too long in a aircon room.
It is getting better now, but my doctor keep telling me to taking care of my eyes and not to get any unknown cosmetics lens brand. And simply enough lesson for me to be more careful with hygiene, no one says that being pretty is always easy but paying a hospital bill is never easy, hahahaha....
Sorry for a weird grammar.....
